"You cannot assume that after ten or thirty years you will find an intact raised bog there again. But you do improve the peatland areas, and you can bind the carbon that was stored in the peatland over more than 10,000 years there once again."

The biologist Elisabeth Falkeis has been working at Naturpark Kaunergrat since the 2000s.
